This is one of the table toppers I've finished for a gift. I have one more to go. They are each approximately 16" x 20". The fabric is some of the Radiance I dyed while in Florida this past winter. I just happened to have some silk for the binding that matched the gold in the piece.
Just a closeup of the free motion quilting. It was a fun piece to work on and to just do some 'free' design work!
Hot one again today...in the 90's...thank goodness for the air conditioning. Around 4:30 a.m. we had a terrible storm with really high winds. The Grand Blanc area is without power but we are still up and running. Some areas may not have power until Sunday! So sad for all those people and businesses! Keeping our fingers crossed!
what a terrific gift.....hand dyed fabric with such gorgeous stitching, its sure to be a hit!
ReplyDeleteof course, if you are like me the pleasure goes both ways because we so enjoy the process of creating....its a win win!
These are just gorgeous -- your quilting is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteA nice lady in my piecing group gave me a bolt of PFD silk today -- I'm thinking that I should do something like this with it...
Beautiful combo of hand-dyed and lovely quilting!
ReplyDeleteOhmygoodness, Robbie! Your quilting is amazing. I've got no talent for that whatsoever, and you've turned that lovely piece of fabric into a completely beautiful finished work.
