Grandma Brag Time
We are so proud of our grand daughter!
Amber won the "distinguished freshman in education" award from the Education Department at Siena Heights U. Each class recognizes students who show "distinguished work and exemplary character for the academic year". Her parents are quite excited and plan on being there for the presentation in April! We are so proud of this young lady and think it's wonderful she is being recognized by SHU and the Education faculty! Wish we could be there to beam along with her mom and dad! How cool is this! Just love that girl! Congratulations, again!!!! Love you!!

Proud Grandma
I have always been proud of my kids...what they have achieved in life, the adult(s) they've become....and now as a grandparents, we can be proud of our grand kids. I've blogged about all four of them in the past few years.
But now that Amber is in college, we get to brag on her! Amber signed her letter of intent to Siena Heights University her senior year to play Lacrosse. That was another exciting and proud day for us all.
This past week or 10 days, Amber and the Siena Heights Lacrosse team traveled to Georgia and to Florida for some games. Unfortunately, where they played in Florida was almost 4 hours away and with over 2 hour! games, it just wasn't feasible for us to attend.
But with modern technology we were able to watch some of the game(s) on our laptops and phones! Only problem, both games were on while I was 1) at dinner on Thursday and 2) at lunch with my friend, Marcia on Saturday! HA But I did sneak a peek both days!
They played two games in Florida. One with Ave Maria University and another one with Keiser University.
But the most exciting part of playing Keiser U was Amber scored her first goal as a collegiate Lacrosse player!! Woohoo!!!! I didn't get to see the goal on the app, nor did her dad but we were hoping we could see a recording of it. I'm still searching for video's of the games!
How exciting is that!!! Amber said she was shaking after she scored! I can only imagine how she felt and I actually felt that same excitement for her!!! I wish everyone could know this young lady. She cares about everyone else and is always thinking of others! She even sent the sweetest text to Bob, which brought tears to his eyes. I know I still have the first text from her where she said "I love you too"!
I told Amber I would do a blog post so she would have a record of her goal. She knows I print out my blog each year so she'll always have these pics and memories! And so will I!!!

Amber house graduation party
This past weekend was Amber's graduation party. As it turned out the weather was not her friend but it still turned out to be a great celebration for her. The kids even hung up the Tshirt quilt I made! How sweet!!!
The kids outdid themselves by all of the decorations, food and landscape. Although folks didn't get to see the beautiful lawn/plants/pool/patio area the kids worked so hard on. Kris always out does herself with the decorations and setup. One lady said she "loved all the Pinterest"!
So another milestone has been made....next will be Amber leaving for college the end of August! Now that will be a sad time!

Congrats Amber!!!
Amber asked us on Saturday if we would come down for a presentation she was doing for her leadership class. Well, YES, I'll be there! Little did we know the kids were surprising everyone with Amber signing her letter of intent with Siena Heights University!
Her new Lacrosse coach from Siena came down to sign Amber!!! It was so exciting and emotional. So hard to think our girl is growing up and will leave home in the summer!!! I was quite impressed with her coach, Cindy Hill. I just know she'll take good care of our girl!!!

Some tidbits!
So Monday turned out to be a day for me to stretch myself and work on the puzzle Susan gave me for my BD! I haven't worked on a puzzle in 50 years! Well, maybe with the grand babies but that doesn't count! Here is the picture of the puzzle.
And this was my progress as of Monday evening. I had to stop working on it because I couldn't get enough light to see the difference in some of the piece colors!
Tuesday, Marcia and I took off for the Villages for some shopping, walking and of course lunch. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside and had Salmon on spinach with strawberries and feta cheese. It was delicious!! Nope, no pics! Too busy yaking and eating and drinking...only one glass of wine! HA
I did work on the puzzle after I took the dogs or a walk when I got home so I'm now about 90% finished with the puzzle. I will finish it today! Then I'm returning it to Susan for her to put together. It will be the gift that keeps on giving!
Tuesday evening my grand daughter and son both sent me a text and pictures of them at the Red Wing Hockey game. Amber bought her dad two tickets to the game for a Christmas present and her dad took her as a thank you! They both love hockey and the Tigers! HA
I just love those two!!! Amber is so sweet and thinks of everyone all the time. And of course Darrin is the same way. He called and left me a message the other day that he was just thinking of me and wanted to say "hi"! 💕💕
And just another link to share! I love these felted vessels Mary Stori has created! I think they are so cool!!! I'm stealing some of her pics just to entice you to check them out here! They do make great gifts for friends, family or even yourself!! Now there's an idea!

And I bet you didn't even miss me!
Just noticed that I haven't blogged since last Wednesday!!! I think that may be the longest I haven't spilled nonsense words on my blog!! But I have been busy...doing what! Well....I think my last blog had to do with me cleaning out the garage...next was picking up my new car (yep, another Buick Enclave which I love, love, love!), then Amber had a sleepover last weekend, which was fun!
We did a lot of running the first day I picked her up...off to Walmart for some shopping, had lunch, then meat market then home to wait for grandpa. We made taco's for dinner then took Kalee and my neighbors dog, Logan, for a walk! He's a hoot and I just love that guy, as well as their other two dogs...yep, they have three!!
On Saturday after making breakfast, we headed off to the Farmer's Market, Miejers then for a Starbucks to get us through the rest of the day. I did take Amber home late afternoon when Nick's two football scrimmage's were over with. Yes, JV football has started!!!
Sunday was my catchup cleaning and laundry day...for some reason I don't remember what Monday held! Tuesday it was Nick and I alone as Amber went camping with a friend...so we went to a movie. We saw Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and it was great!! Special digital effects were wonderful! We then had lunch out then back home to let out Brody and get Nick ready for football practice. Wednesday was spa day for Kalee but I did have a chance to meet my bud, Mary, at Panera's until Kalee was ready. Nice chatting with her.
Yesterday I worked some more on hand stitching projects.....this is a 12" square I did for the Singer/Quilting Daily challenge.
Well, the picture only shows part of it! I you're so inclined, you can go to this link and vote for your favorite...so far I have ONE vote! And I didn't even vote for my own piece..I liked 'Modern Circles 3' and 'Circles Take the Square' and I did vote for the Modern Circle piece...can't believe some of these lady's have over 100 votes!
So at night or before dinner, I've been hand stitching two other projects and trying to decide how to hand stitch my peacock quilt...all the free motion quilting is finished and now I'm having 2nd thoughts about the background for my beaded leaf. Decisions, decisions...tomorrow I am going to play (after my cleaning is out of the way!). I'm going to do some screen printing with some new screens I had made by Lynn K. over at Smudged Textiles Studio. I am really excited and hope the screen turned out as I think they might! The designs are rather different....you'll see in a future post!!! Have a good weekend all!! I'm sure going to try!!

Honors
Yes, I've been keeping busy....first off working on my leaf...I'm at the half way mark! Yep!!! I may finish by fall after all!
Also, I've been asked by Lynda, to join LuAnn, and Sue to be guest bloggers on And Then We Set it on Fire for their Sun Printing technique for the month of June. I'll be showing several different techniques for using SolarFast the week of June 16th! I did a post on using this product last August and this past week I've been sun printing like crazy!!! What fun!!
So stop by And Then We Set It On Fire to see all the different ways to sun print! There will be posts all of June and I'm sure you'll pick up some new tips or products from each of the ladies, even if you've sun printed in the past!
And another "honor" was attending Amber's academic honor ceremony this past Wed. We're so proud of Amber (& her fellow classmates) for maintaining the honor roll this year (Amber has been on the honor roll her entire middle school years!). It was quite impressive seeing these 8th graders and the recognition they received. Who knew the had geometry and advanced algebra in 8th grade!!! Spanish, periodic tables being studied!! Yikes! I don't think I would have graduated! We didn't have those classes until high school!
And here's proud dad with his little girl! I can't believe she'll be going into high school next year!!!!
Today I'm off to meet one of my buds for 'breakfast', then off to get the old bone scan, grocery shopping, make dinner, then a dog walk, then watch Tigers and bead! Of course, there must be a glass of wine somewhere in that list!!!

This and that!
And then...long story....but my grand daughter took her first sewing class at JoAnn's a few weeks ago. They made a pillow case and she sent it to me for Valentines! I finally received it (that's the long story on the route it took from Michigan!) last week so I wanted to thank her again!! And it's signed so grandma will always remember when and who made this beautiful pillow case!!! Thank you, Sweet Pea!!! I love the pillow case and will keep it forever!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SWEET PEA!

Amber turns 11 today!! Over the weekend, Amber and her friends had a spa/overnight/pool fun time thanks to her mom and help from Auntie and cousins, Ginny and Katie. The girls had a great time and yesterday was family day with Amber to celebrate her bd. We had a fun time watching the kids in the pool and of course eating to our heart delight by all the great food prepared by Kris and Darrin. Grandma Nancy made her famous cake but pics will wait until later this week. Auntie will be sending out pics later this week!
