Another gift for Valentine's

I have posted before on Sherry, from the Createology blog.  She is so 'artsy' and makes so many gifts for others!  I've been a very happy recipient of her gifts and enjoy each one of them!  Check out this latest gift from Sherry to me for Valentine's Day!  What a surprise!

First off, look at the envelope Sherry made....I was so careful to make sure to photograph each piece so I could put it back together!  HA  There is a bag;  a paper doilie and heart secured with a pink string!

Then....

Then....

I love ATC's and have been part of several online exchanges but this ATC was a total surprise!  I love it!  This will be put into my ATC binder when I get home and will hold a special spot in that binder.  Thank you again, Sherry!!!!

THANK YOU!!!

I received this delightful present in the mail earlier this week!!! It is called a Pocket Letter and was made by my blog buddy, Sherry, from Createology!

Sherry is so clever as well as so prolific!  Isn't this so clever!!!  The back (or front depending on how you look at it!) is of a butterfly that is cut into ATC size cards!

Then each holder is filled with some item, such as candy!!, Christmas gift tags, a little felted ornament or could be a gift tag but I'm keeping for an ornament! and even a tea bag!!  So delightful!!!  And just so creative!!!!

And such a surprise to receive in the mail!!!  THANK YOU, Sherry!!!  You are one of the best!!!!  To be inspired by Sherry's creativity do check out her blog here.

Getting back into the swing of things!

Before I get 'into' what I'm doing or have done....look what the sweet Sherry from Createology sent me!!!

And check out the paper it was wrapped in!  You just know this will find a spot in my 'playtime' somewhere!!!  Sherry is a doll, as well as talented and so creative.  And this 'gift' came at a great time!  I was a little down and it brightened my spirits!!!  So thank you again my friend!!

Well, most of the spring cleaning is now finished.  I completed my sewing room purge with the exception of my fabric shelves and some drawers on one of my tables.  Books have been sorted to give to our day guild and I'm ready to start on my projects now! Whew!!!

I was able to do some free motion quilting on a painted piece I did a year or two ago.  In the process I also made some snap bags.  It feels good to be back sewing again.

Now I have to put some labels and sleeves on some of my finished pieces for the Master's Exhibit.

Of course, it's also time to get started on some new work and finish up Hex Horse 2!!  But I'll still most likely 'play' with something else in between!

Now I just hope I remember how lucky I am!

Yes, I am a lucky lady!!  Lucky to have friends close to where I live and lucky to have some great blog friends!  Such as, Sherry, from Createology!   Sherry is a multi talented lady who is always creating new and interesting items...mainly for her friends...and even for those blog friends she's never met!  I have been gifted several times by Sherry and treasure each and every one she has sent me (all the way from California!).  Anyway, look what she made and gifted me!!!

I love it!  And I can sure use this card holder/purse!  It's perfect to carry my library card, Panera card and other non credit cards!

You can see the different fabrics where you'll store your cards!  THANK YOU SO MUCH, SHERRY!!!!  I just love it...you are one special lady and I'm so lucky to call you my Blog BFF!!

Now I hope I remember a year from now (maybe a week from now!) who gave this to me!  Yesterday I was cleaning up my room to pack and had one of my folder/envelopes that I was going to take a picture of to post today...well, I went downstairs to my workroom, carrying the folder/envelope and do you think I can find the bugger today!  I remember "putting it away" but I just don't remember where I put it!!!

I have looked high and low and it's driving me crazy.  I have been in my workroom 3 times looking for it!!

I notice I'm doing this more and more lately.  I'm so good about putting things "back where they belong" but lately it seems I'm not always doing that and end up hunting for something.  I keep changing where I put something and then I can't remember my new place.
I will find that folder/envelope...someday!!!  UGH....anyway, here are shots of my sewing area with items all packed up and ready for the car and trip to Florida!

I know...it looks like a lot but you don't know how much I have cut back...this all fits on the floor in the back seat area.

I'm never sure exactly what I'm going to work on and I don't want to have to buy something I already have!

All the items here sit on top of some of the boxes and bins above.  I use a lot of space saver bags for Bob's sweaters, pants and shorts so they go on the seat to raise Kalee and Grace's crates for them to see out the windows better!

Have to keep our animal kids happy too!

Friday I'm getting the kids to have for the weekend.  I have sugar cookie batter in frig so I'll bake those tonight then freeze them so kids can decorate cookies on Saturday.  Not sure what else we'll do but it will be nice to be around the kids for a day or two!!

Some show and tell!

So, yep...it was 'playtime' today!  Actually, I had these two T-shirts left over from ones MaryJo gave me for Ian's quilt.  They are so cute but I didn't think they would work on the front of his quilt....so, today I made a pillow to go with his quilt!
This is the front of the pillow and the next picture is of the back.  I made the case so it slips onto a pillow form.  That way Ian can wash it...I know....funny...but you never know...he just might!!!

I think it turned out perfect!  And thanks to my Florida friend, Nancy,  for posting a few weeks ago, the use of  the feather embroidery stitch for quilting.  I didn't sandwich the T-shirt but I did back with stabilizer.  Then I used the feather stitch around both blocks.  Let's face it...it's not like Ian will use this bugger!  But I hope he keeps it and passes on to his kids!

AND...I'm a bit late on showing a gift I received from another blog friend!  Sherry, from Createology, sent me a fabric ornament, which I received the day before we left for Florida so I wasn't able to post a picture (I did email Sherry a thank you).
Sherry is so creative and busier than I am!!  I have three "gifts" Sherry has sent me and each are hung now in my sewing studio!!  Thank you again my friend!  You are a sweetheart and so generous!!!

So now my 'project' for graduation is finished and I can play!  Next up is heading off to the kids on Thursday - Monday for a few days of grandma time!!  Darrin and Kris will be on vaca for 10 day so Auntie Dawn and I will play 'Nanny'!  I'm looking forward to the time with the kids.

It's another beautiful day here today....78, sunny but no humidity!  Just wonderful Michigan weather!!!  This is at the end of our subdivision where Kalee gets to 'sniff' on our walk(s).  Rain is due in later tonight so hopefully Kalee will get another nice walk after dinner.

Oh, Bob and I got new phones yesterday (Samsung Galaxy S5), which are fantastic!!!  And we had to get a new laptop...Bob's desktop died and it was cheaper to buy a laptop.  Bob is taking my old laptop to put in the computer room for working on his golf stats.  I'm having a learning curve with the new Windows 8.1...but I'll get there!!!  AT least I hope I will!!!  This is my first post using the new computer.  So far...so good...let's see if I can actually publish it!  Since that 'option' isn't highlighted...

Angels and Patchwork!

What a surprise I had in the mail the other day!

This was from Sherry, one of my blog friends, over at Createology!  Sherry is a very generous person as you'll see when you read her blog. This isn't the first surprise I've rec'd from Sherry!  You can read and see my thread catcher Sherry sent me, on my post here.  I use my thread catcher all the time now!  Although, Bob says now he doesn't have all those thread pieces to "find his way"  to where I'm at!

I love my little angel and I'm actually going to put it on a hook that fits into my Smart Phone ear slot.  I'll post pics once I attach it.  Thank you Sherry!!!  You are a sweetheart!!!

Yes, I've been working at night on my patchwork piece!  It is slow going but worth it...I hope!  I do have a few other projects to make before Christmas and hopefully Peter Max will get some work done on it this weekend as well.
Still working on filling in some squares...I got bored so I started the next stitching below!

I'm adding more echo lines around these lines....just busy work!

Kalee's Cousin

Before I introduce another new member to our extended family...be sure to check out Nancy's Quilting Potpourri blog! Nancy is having a give away of her vintage books. Nancy made these Christmas Gluebooks from an online class and they are adorable! I'm looking forward to meeting Nancy when we get to Florida this winter. She does some very unique work from traditional quilting to art quilting to using vintage pictures in books.
Well, my sister went and did it!! She joined the "I want a puppy club"!! Here is her newest addition...she's a 2 lb Pomeranian puppy called Sherry! Is she cute or what!! Last I skyped my sister, she told me how exhausted she was! We can sure identify with that! Our little one is getting better and better each day...by that, I mean she's not having us play with her 16 hours a day! We're down to 12!

This is Sherry upside down sleeping next to my sister! All fur!!!!
Kalee is doing well after her surgery and I'm actually able to knit at night! Quilting during the day too! I'll hold off doing any beading until we get to Florida! Our snow is all gone now but the ground is so wet...lots of rain off and on the past few days. We can't wait for Florida!!
