Challenge Piece

Today I am (or my quilt is!) meeting up with the other three ladies and their finished quilt.  We were each part of a challenge to complete a quilt square (keeping the edges unfinished).   We were had a corner (approximately 20" x 20" square) of this large piece of hand dyed fabric.  Hated to see this piece cut up!!!

This is my finished square.

I hand stitched the circles/lines, but to not take away from the design/colors of the piece, I elected to machine stitch using monofilament thread and outline the areas around the hand work.

And some detail pictures of my four corners!  HA  For the most part, I used the opposite color thread for the hand stitching.

I'm anxious to see the other pieces and if we can, in fact, join them together to make a larger quilt!

I can’t wait to see what all of you did……assume it was one of Kay’s pieces that was the focus of the challenge?

Such a pretty piece. Have you ever mentioned what thread you are using for your hand stitching? I am hand stitching on Laurie's quilt and the thread I bought that said it is for hand quilting does not seem as noticeable as I expected it to be.

First of all thanks for the Valentine card. It is always exciting to get fiber in the mail.
That was a awesome piece of fabric. I can see why it was hard to cut.
Love you treatment of it.

That is soooo beautiful! I would have cried if I had to cut up that fabric, but now that I've seen how you quilted it, it was so worth it!
